Underbanked – a piece on economically excluded for the fakt.pl daily

Traditional banking institutions contributed to the creation of the so-called "underbanked" group, i.e. economically excluded people who cannot afford basic banking products such as credit or savings accounts. However, the emergence of such a group is an opportunity for fintech companies, which are distinguished by cost minimisation along with concurrent technological support and rapid process of application for financial products. LOANDO Group CEO, Krzysztof Przybysz, commented on this phenomenon in a piece for the fakt.pl, a Polish daily.

According to estimates, there are between 2 and 3 billion people in the world who cannot afford basic financial products due to high requirements of the banks. At the same time, this situation is a chance for the development of fintech companies providing online financial services.

Krzysztof Przybysz, LOANDO Group CEO, commented: “Underbanked presents a great opportunity for the fintech industry. This is a large group of people who do not use the services of banking institutions and whose financial needs are as real as those of other groups. Fintech companies perfectly meet these needs with their low prices of services, wide availability and cross-platform capabilities.”
