Letter from the debt collector – practical advice in a piece for fakt24.pl

What to do when you receive a letter from a debt collection company with a debt collection order? How to check if it’s legitimate? Marcin Sikora, LOANDO Group Chief Sales Officer, explained what steps should be taken in such a situation in a piece for fakt24.pl.

If you receive a letter from a debt collection company, you should remember that it is the creditor’s responsibility to prove that you owe a debt to them.

Marcin Sikora, LOANDO Group Chief Sales Officer, advises: It is also recommended to check the due date by which the debt should be repaid. Many debt collection companies take advantage of our lack of knowledge about the loan repayment due dates and try to draw us into repaying debts that are already past due. If a debt is legitimate and it’s not past due, you are obliged to repay it.

Following the advice of our expert: in case of any doubts, you should also contact the advisor – the contact number should be included in the letter sent by the debt collection company. In case of debt repayment problems, it is also worth trying to divide the debt into smaller instalments and ask for the cancellation of additional interest, if any.
