The lendtech market in Poland

The debt of Poles has been going up for years. One of the reasons for this is the lack of proper verification of borrowers' real ability to pay back the loan. In order to prevent unreasonable indebtedness, loan services companies use the latest technologies. On the Polish market, lendtechs are becoming more and more significant. LOANDO Group CEO, Krzysztof Przybysz, explained this phenomenon in the latest airing of Polsat News.

Krzysztof Przybysz, LOANDO Group CEO, commented: Lendtechs are a relatively new concept. The word describes financial institutions operating exclusively online. This fact in some way limits the possibility of the human factor, i.e. a person influencing the decision to accept or decline a credit application. Lendtechs can be Polish or international companies, which in cooperation with fintechs, i.e. institutions providing technological innovations for the financial sector, are able to better examine the creditworthiness of the borrower – not only by checking the databases with debtor data, but also by verifying the customer’s bank account in the process called “screen scraping,” which helps to get to know the behaviour of the given customer in the last 12 months.
